Perfect for St. Valentine's Day Lunch Box Love Notes Freebie For Home or School!

Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas FREE Printable Lunch Box Love Notes!

FREE ♥ Lunch Box Love Notes♥

While you're planning and getting ready for Valentines, here's one of my favorite freebies for you. Lunch Box Love Notes. For Teacher-Moms, as tired as we are once Spring Fever hits our classrooms, we don't want to short change our own children. I remember I really wanted my children to have a good day at school, listen to the teacher. learn a lot and make new friends. But mornings for Teacher-Moms are not like something out of the Full House TV show....many a morning at my house SOMEONE crying over SOMETHING because they weren't the center of attention at that given moment. SOMETIMES it was even me! {Just kidding, OK, no, maybe not....}

These love notes are a quick and easy way for you to show them some love when they are away from you in that big, ole' school cafetorium, as they call it in my district.  BUT no lie, a very easy prep, I would write five on Saturday afternoon or Sunday night and hide them in my bedroom. That way I was ready to slip one in their lunch box each morning and if they wanted to buy their lunch that day, I had it ready to slip into their backpack. My FREEBIE has enough for 24 notes, that way you can use a different one each school day for a month!

These Love Notes are also perfect for teachers to use as a quic End Of The School Day student note! ♥

My favorite author, Erma Bombeck once said something about school notes....If they are typed on nice paper and signed in pen, they have been forged by the child, a real Mom has to grab a red crayon and writes on a kitchen napkin. :)

Teacher Tip Tuesday!

Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas Teacher Tip Tuesday - To center your letters on a bulletin board, mark the center of the board with a thumb tack. Lay out the letters on a table. Find the center on your board and begin putting up the letters from the center, working your way out to both ends. Remove the thumb tack. Even better, share this tip with a school volunteer to do it for you. #TeacherTipTuesday #FernSmithsClassroomIdeas

Just Published ~ Color By Numbers Divide By One

Just published and oh so adorable! This resource contains three color by numbers, a little boy, a little girl and a cat. Every resource in my Third Grade Math Unit Seven has a "Friend" theme, with the friends looking for animals, zoo animals, jungle animals, pets, I've mixed it up for all sorts of cute, consistent variety. This resource also contains three additional pages with just math problems for you to use for morning work, homework, bell work, seatwork, quizzes, pretests or post-tests. The first one has math problems for dividing by one in order, the second page has math problems for dividing by one in mixed order and the third page has missing number problems for dividing by one.

I liked to organize my students' work with pocket notebooks, very inexpensive and easy to store in a basket on the center of their tables or in their desks.  You know how you get a phone call or someone comes to your door and you lose complete control of the class?

NO? Me neither, because I would keep some high interest sheets in their folder and when "put your heads down for a few minutes" would just NOT be appropriate, tell them to get their folders out and they can work on their color by code pages. You look good, you can talk to the adult at the door, or the principal on the phone, the class is well behaved and they are STILL actively engaged in learning. Win-Win!

I can help, I will continue to update the links when the resources are published to TpT. Book mark this page if you are looking for some help with division, I have task cards, color by numbers, test sheets and center games for all your facts one to twelve. Perfect for second to fifth grade students. I hope my little tip with the pocket folders helps and if you have an idea you would like to share with my followers, please leave a comment!

Bulletin Board Trim Tip

Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas Bulletin Board Trim Tips for Back to School.
Bulletin Board Trim Tip That I Wish I Had Known Sooner!
Each year I pick out one color and I use that trim for the entire room, yes, the entire room! Your students and parents will love what you put ON the bulletin board. They will not go home thinking, "That Mrs. Smith, she used all red trim this year."
When you use one color for all your boards, you will never run out of one little, last piece. If a student trips and grabs the board, ripping some off of the bottom, you will have back up trim left over!

No stress of running to the store right before school starts because you ran out of a certain pattern for a certain board!

PS. The green index cards in the picture on the board reminds me what I want to put there. Back to school is so tiring, some mornings I would walk back into my room and think...Was that a math bulletin board? Was that going to be a word wall? By writing it down quickly on an index card I could finish what I started the next day! :)
You have enough to worry about during the first week of school, I hope this tip helps! :)
