Suggestion: Clark the Shark is a great read aloud book for back to school and the excitement, but we must learn about classroom rules and procedures so that EVERYONE is safe and happy! After reading the story, you can create an anchor chart listing what they do in Clark's classroom and what you do in your classroom. Students may then brainstorm rules that they think are important. Each child can then create a page for the classroom book.
Laminate the cover to use year after year.

Our school has four BEE themed rules, that's why this page now has a bee hanging out with a shark! Be nice is the student text.
A primary page for drawings only is include.
A more advanced page with lined paper is also include.
Our cover before I laminated it for the class.

I had a shark craft leftover from the end of the year, so we were able to practice our "Dot, dot, not a lot." glue rule and make him, then I decided he needed more. So we all drew pictures of "Sharing is Caring" and this terrific picture ended up looking like a scary scene in Jaws! Sometimes a craft works, sometimes it works even better! :)
