My friend Mary at A Classroom Full of Smiles has started a wonderful Linky Party that I'm excited to join AND plan to join every Saturday....yep, that's my goal! Since I've put it out into the World, I will stick to it!
Each week everyone is going to link up items and things that will help teachers plan for the next week or two. After you've read mine, head on over there to see what else you might need!
With Groundhog Day landing on Sunday this year, this is a fun week to study old Punxsutawney Phil.
Click here to go to Phil's official site. It has all sorts of freebies and lessons for teachers. They have FAQs, printables, the history of Phil, all sorts of neat things. Phil lives at Gobbler's Knob and has been predicting the weather since 1887.
This will be his 128th year!
When Groundhog Day falls on the weekend, on Friday before we go home for the weekend, I have the kids make their predictions on the board or an anchor chart.

Then when you return to school on Monday, Feb. 3rd, you can pull up the site, see what Phil's prediction was and discuss your chart!
In keeping with the Groundhog theme this week, I have a few math centers for you with the groundhog theme.

If you head on over, tell Mary that Fern sent you!

Thank you SOOO much for linking up. I don't think your Groundhog activities could be any cuter! I can't wait to use some in my room. Thanks again!
