Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas You Oughta Know About Blog Hop with Encouraging Snack Messages for Test Taking Days!
You Oughta Know About ... a quick and easy way to encourage students before testing
http://www.fernsmithsclassroomideas.com/2015/04/you-oughta-know-about-encouraging-snack.html
Research shows that children with a full belly can focus better on standardize tests. Before each important test, beginning of the year tests, standardize tests, end of the year test, for any major important test a little snack can take the edge off the EXTRA stress these tests cause our little students.
Putting these snacks into a baggie before the day of testing also makes it less stressful for the teacher. If you can get a parent volunteer or PTA member to do it. Ask them to write a little message on the baggie as well. OR you can write the message once the snacks are in the baggies. Just a little something extra to let them know you are thinking about them and wishing them well on the test!
I'm part of a terrific blog hop this month, You Oughta Know... and I invite you to hop around for more wonderful ideas for your classroom!

  1. Love that you combine snack with a positive message! I give out cute treats like this for special celebrations, but never thought about doing it on testing days. Perfect!

  2. We have sometimes paired up testing grades with non-testing grades and we give our test buddies a snack! "Do a beary good job on your test!" with Teddy Grahams is always one of my favorites to use! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!
