Tuesday Teacher Tips: Dr. Seuss

Tuesday Teacher Tips: Dr. Seuss Resources,  Lessons and Freebies!
Monday, March 2, 2015 is National Education Association's National Read Across America Day! So much excitement, so much to do, schools everywhere love to do something a little different on March 2nd in conjunction with the birthday of Dr. Seuss too!

This year's featured book is, Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. To incorporate your math centers next week, I've created some addition and subtraction word problem math task cards, perfect for independent work, Scoot, review or some hands on homework.

In addition to the task cards I have included the directions to make Thing One and Thing Two hair. Depending on how many you have in your team, you could be like me, Thing Three.....all the way up to Thing Ten, Thing Twenty....the possibilities are endless.
Thing One and Thing Two Hair!
This is a two person job.
1. Place an empty water bottle {16 oz.} on top of your head and then have a friend bring all your hair up and gather it into a ponytail around the bottle.
2. Next, place a ponytail holder around the rim of the bottle to hold your hair in place. Use bobby pins to pin up any bangs or short hair.
4. Last, spray the blue hair dye all over. The color spray dyes are available at Wal*Mart, CVS and many other stores.

Last step, send me a picture, I love it when my readers send me pictures! You make my day ~ FernleySmith@gmail.com!

Amazon has a great selection of books for Read Across America and Dr. Seuss.
