### Are You a Tired Teacher Already? It Could Be Your Shoes! We're Having a Zappos Shoe Giveaway!

BACK TO SCHOOL TIME = BACK TO BED EARLY TIME!
I don't know about you, but when I had to go back to school, those first few weeks were a killer! I was so tired that I would just crash the minute my little ones went to bed!
Then two years ago, the first week of school about killed me, I was so tired and my back hurt, my head hurt, my sides hurt, everything hurt! My poor husband, I knew I had some rare disease, I was miserable and I was letting him know, CLEARLY I was dying!
"I bet it is your feet." was what he told me....no way it was that easy, so of course I Googled it to prove that it had to be more serious than that! :)
I found a few helpful websites and they all stated the basics:
1. Excessive weight ~ Check, that's me.
2. Overuse ~ Check, it IS back to school time!
3. Inappropriate Shoes ~ Check, check and check!
So the hubby was right and I uttered those three painful words, "You were right!"
To celebrate back to school and hopefully help keep you happy and on your feet all day, my friend Michelle from Teach123 and I have decided to have a little fun. Our giveaway is for a \$50 Zappos Shoe Gift Certificate!

### Bright Ideas Blog Hop: Partner Reading

The Daily Five is a structured system that will help students develop the daily habits of reading, writing and working with peers that will lead to a lifetime of independent literacy. The daily five uses the term EEKK, which stands for students sitting elbow, elbow, knee, knee.
My Tip
Start out strong, have the students sit side by side in two chairs. The students face the same way and sit side by side with their elbows next to each other, same with the knees. BUT, as the weeks go by I let the students relax more, they may lay on a rug, or a big comfy chair, even share a bean bag, because let's face it, as an adult, you want to get nice and comfy when you read, so do our students. While we teach reading and encourage a love of reading, we also want reading to come as naturally as breathing, something enjoyable that they desire! If the students start to take advantage of it, and start to misbehave, it is so easy to say, "Do you need to move back into a chair?"
No ~ behavior clip system,
That's the tip, I hope it helps!
