A Year's Worth of Spelling Word Families for Kindergarten to Second Grade Giveaway!

A Year's Worth of Spelling Word Families for Kindergarten to Second Grade Giveaway!
Done! Holy Cow, talk about a labor of ♥love♥!
I have finally finished my biggest packet, Fifty Spelling Word Families, A Year's Worth of Spelling Word Families for Kindergarten to Second Grade.
AND....
I'm having a giveaway! Of course I am,
it's in the title!
But first, I want to show you one way I like to introduce Spelling on Monday morning with these lists.
Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas How to Introduce Spelling Words on Monday
As part of your morning routine on Monday have the children select two different colored highlighters. I would only recommend working on two strategies each week or it will become a rainbow nightmare of ripped, wet, magic markered paper! ;)
On the board give the boys and girls two directions to follow, for example in this picture...
1. Underline all consonants.
2. A filled-in circle on all vowels.
Then just mix this up weekly, some other examples you can select...
* Circle the word family {-ile in this picture.}
* Underline first letter.
* Circle all consonants.
* X-out all the vowels.
* Circle any other words you find in the word {mile in smile, for example.}
The ideas are endless and it helps your students attack each word by breaking them into the smaller letter pieces.
A Year's Worth of Spelling Word Families for Kindergarten to Second Grade Giveaway!
 With fifty different word families, there are endless possibilities for differentiation. Each reading group can have a different word family. Some lists have ten words, some have enough words in the word family for 15 words.

Also included is all the lists with "Word Work" instead of "Spelling" in case that's what you need for your district!

  1. I love, love, love all your products. This one is truly a winner. My deaf and hard of hearing kids would soar with this because it is so visual. I am going to cross my fingers, toes, arms, legs, and anything else I can for good luck in winning. Thanks so very much for making this.
