Sea World Orlando gives teachers free admission with their Teacher Study Pass program.
I recently went to Sea World using my free Teacher Study Pass and had an amazing time. I wanted to share this information with you as you get ready for some well deserved vacation time.
Your Teacher Study Pass is good for the entire year, but Sea World has done this for 16 years. To get your pass you will need your Florida teaching certificate, a current pass stub and a picture ID, take it to any front gate and they will issue it on the spot. It is that easy!

Our hotel also offered shuttle service to the park with a special one hour early entrance, too old for selfies, but we were the first two at the turnstile, and I had already had WAY TOO much of the free Starbuck's coffee at our hotel and was beyond excited!

So many things were "my favorite thing to do" but I wouldn't kill you will all my travel photos. I will just share this one thing you really, really, really have to do....the dolphin petting area. I could have spent the entire day with my hand in the water and they would come right up to you....so cool.

WAIT! One more thing I want to share, Dine with Shamu was worth every, single, stinkin', penny. Seriously!

While you wait, the whales are swimming around in a private area for you to view and take pictures.

This is the trainer and I was taking the picture from my dining chair, we were that close!
We had booked our dinner three months earlier on the advice of a friend. So that night we had front row seats and an amazing dinner with wonderful, five star service.

I was so excited when I returned I bought all sorts of sea creature clip art and I was going to make all sorts of ocean themed products. I made one! :) SO FAR....

If you download the free preview, I've included my free Math Center sign for you. Because everyone knows a whale needs an abacus when he's out in the big, blue sea!
I made this video to show my students because it was feeding time and the seals and sea lions knew how to play up to an audience. You are welcome to use it with your Ocean unit.

I would just ♥love it if

  2. Our 4th graders are going on a field trip to Sea World San Antonio in May. We went last year and had a blast. It's only $8 for students, and teachers and up to 30 chaperones for FREE! It's a great place to take your family...AND students! Thanks for sharing about the teacher pass. I may just have to look into that!!

    1. Thanks for sharing that great idea, I love that they let that many chaperones in for free. There is NOTHING WORSE than getting chaperones to commit and then saying, "Oh, yeah, I need your 8 bucks too!" :)
