Quiet Water, Still Water Time Filler Game!

 Quiet Water, Still Water!
I learned a new game today...so, you can teach an old dog new tricks! Quiet Water, Still Water! It is a perfect "time filler" when you have just a few minutes to kill. You know how some teachers play the "Quiet Game" to get kids to be quiet.....well, that doesn't work well in third grade, they are wise to your tricks. But this is a wonderful game!
HOW TO PLAY QUIET WATER, STILL WATER!
1. Line everyone up, then have them turn sideways to face you.
2. Pick one student to be IT. They have 30 seconds to pick the quietest person to be IT!
3. They call that person's name and then return to their original spot. That way there is no movement in line.
4. Since the person is only IT for 30 {or less} seconds everyone gets a turn very quickly.
5. No one may have a second turn until everyone has a turn, this makes the children pay attention to who has already been it in addition to having to be quiet.

Today was the first time I have ever seen this game, our school Coach was with me. I had two classes that she was helping me watch and she got them all lined up for me and started the game. BAM! They were dead silent! It was wonderful! Try it, next time your stuck in the hallway for a few extra minutes!
You'll ♥love it!
