I always teach multiplication and division together at the same time...they might not all get it at first, but once it clicks that they are inverse operations, you can actually see the light bulb go off in their head!
Instead of just writing
4 x 6 = 24
6 x 4 = 24
24 / 6 = 4
24 / 4 = 6
I always have them write it in a little house, and NO ONE ELSE IS ALLOWED to live in that house! It is a simple trick, but one they love! It is also a terrific way to use the roof as a tie-in to triangular flash cards.
They love it, the top picture was our board yesterday morning. I let them pick whatever fact family they wanted to do...it is an instant observation too. 1 x 8 = 8 really, that was the hardest fact family you could pick?!?! :)
I have a popular post on how to make a MOUSE version of the triangular flash cards on free paint sample cards!
I WOULD ♥LOVE♥ IT IF YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME ON MY BLOG~
